About
Our Story
We grew up hearing the same words: “You are the leaders of tomorrow.”
For years, we waited. We watched. We hoped that the future promised to us would arrive—handed down by leaders, by institutions, by someone else’s timing.
But tomorrow came, and then another tomorrow. And we realized: the future we were waiting for was never going to be given. It had to be taken.
That is why Akokowaa exists.
Akokowaa—a word from the Yoruba language in Nigeria—speaks to this moment. It means “It is our time.” Not a plea. Not a promise. A declaration.
We built this brand for those who understand that time is not a number. It is responsibility. It is the most valuable thing we own, and we refuse to wait any longer for permission to claim it.
From independence until now, we have been told that our future lies ahead. But we are already in the tomorrow they spoke of. And we are choosing to build—quietly, deliberately, with our own hands.
Akokowaa is not just a watch. It is a reminder. A commitment. A quiet statement that says: I am responsible for my time, and I will use it with purpose.
This is our time. And we are wearing it.
